Two methods for building basic paint tools
Interest in Film Gimp seems to have grown exponentially between the time of its introduction on the Mac platform and Apple's release of its own X11 public beta. And with good reason. Film Gimp is an open-source, 16-bit image editor and film production tool that runs in various X11 environments. It also happens to be free. Apple's X11 beta, also free, has enabled not only Film Gimp, but a whole wealth of open-source applications, to run on Mac OS X in a familiar environment and with a level of performance that makes all of these applications truly viable on the Mac.
30 textured brushes for Creature House Expression 3
It looks like I wasn't the only one excited by the release of Expression 3 from Creature House. Having reviewed it earlier this week, I received a flood of e-mails in agreement with my "Strong Buy" assessment, as well as some requests for me to create custom brushes for the program. An updated, feature by feature reference for the Studio Artist Paint Synthesizer
This project is an ongoing compendium to Synthetik Studio Artist 2.0. It's an attempt to place into simple terms every single feature available within Studio Artist, a painting and rotoscoping application for the Macintosh. As such, this reference is slow in development, but new information will be added to it regularly.

In series 8 of my Adobe Photoshop 7 Style Layer tutorials, I have created 2 more effects that you can implement into your Style Layers palette to give your designs or text elements a new look quick and easy. The two effects are named “Quicksilver” and “Spiderman.” These Style Layers will work well with either objects or text as the examples display. Detailed instructions have been added to help the user install and implement the Style Layers into their next Photoshop project. Have fun and enjoy the effects!
