Next-generation vector illustration suite
If I were to take all of the work I've done in Freehand and stack it up next to the work I've done in Adobe Illustrator, I'd say that the Illustrator stack would be about 500 times as tall as the Freehand stack. Yet, with the release of Freehand MX, this situation is rapidly reversing itself--or at least equalizing. This latest version of Macromedia's vector illustration suite is just that good.
Software-only broadcast suite available for Mac OS X
Channel Storm today released Live Channel Pro 2.0, an update to the company's software-only suite for emulating a broadcast studio. The new version expands beyond Webcasting into video production, with full-screen output and recording capabilities. It's available now only for Mac OS X.

In series 9 of my Adobe Photoshop 7 Style Layer tutorials, I have created 2 more effects that you can implement into your Style Layers palette to give your designs or text elements a new look quick and easy. The three effects are named “Artwork” and “Lavalamp.” These Style Layers will work well with either objects or text as the examples display. Detailed instructions have been added to help the user install and implement the Style Layers into their next Photoshop project. Have fun and enjoy the effects!
