![]() How to get out the blemish while maintaining detail There are times when you need to eliminate discoloration (blemishes, spots, stains, etc.) on your subject while maintaining detail. The Healing Brush in Adobe Photoshop 7 can help with this, but it's not the best solution in most cases, since it can insert fake details into the corrected area and therefore produce sloppy results. Here's an alternative to the Healing Brush that can be much more effective at both maintaining detail and eliminating spots. Major upgrade worth the wait When Adobe released After Effects 5.0 some two years ago, it was a major breakthrough in compositing technology – 3D layers, vector painting, speed and workflow improvements were all major advantages to this application. With the near-release of After Effects 6.0, Adobe has done it again by adding and improving upon an already-great animation and compositing package. ![]() Border and edge effects for Adobe Photoshop Frame and border creation tools are nothing new for graphic designers. They come in all varieties, from edge effects to mattes to simple overlays of photographically produced frames. Many of these are easy enough to produce yourself, assuming you have a lot of time on your hands and don't need to produce them very often. But for those who need high-quality borders and want to save some time, a plugin package like Extensis PhotoFrame 2.5 is the way to go. ![]() 25 custom vector-based brushes It's been quite a while since I've posted a set of brushes for Illustrator. For one thing, Illustrator brush files are huge. For another, the payoff isn't very great since Illustrator brush tips are vector-based and therefore aren't terribly pretty. Or rather weren't terribly pretty--before now. For I have put together a library of painterly Illustrator Art brushes that will delight the eye and vanquish those vector-based blues. Read on for examples and download instructions. Text Tool in After Effects 6.0 A lot of people stopped to check out the After Effects 6.0 review I wrote the other day… A LOT OF PEOPLE! Most have been blown away with the Text Tool and some of the amazing things you can do with it. To whet your appetite, here is a quick tutorial to show you how to create your own DMN logo in After Effects 6.0. You’ll want to bookmark this tutorial, because on delivery day, you’ll want to rip right into using the new Text Tool. We are working on on adding new leaders to the DMN Forum's host panel to help champion our forums. If you know of someone who'd be a great addition to the DMN Forum team -- or if you yourself would like to join our team ------ please contact us. |
