Automated CD/DVD duplication and label-printing system
Primera's Bravo Disc Publisher falls into a class of devices for which a review such as this is almost a mere formality. That is, its value is so immediately apparent that, as long as it does what it's supposed to do and its price is somewhere within the realm of attainability, there are simply very few questions left to ask about it. The Bravo Disc Publisher is a line of DVD and CD duplication systems designed for desktop manufacturing, integrating media burning and label printing into one unit, all tied together with a robotics system for hands-free production of up to 25 discs in its default configuration. And all of this at a reasonable price.

In the third part of our ongoing lighting series, we take a look at one method to lighting a subject on a bright sunny day.
Part 1: Highlight Formats, colors and mapping
Our last time through Apple's DVD Studio Pro 2, we took a broad look at the creation of graphical elements for a DVD menu, including the basics of creating backgrounds, multi-layer buttons and other elements. Now I want to focus more on various ways you can use graphics on the Selected and Activated states of menu elements, specifically techniques for using highlights inherent in a button Shape file and for moving beyond basic highlights and into multi-color overlays. We begin with part 1 in this two-part mini-series looking at integrated button highlights, and we'll move into overlays next week.
25 dynamic, textured vector brush styles
This is my first series of brush styles for Macromedia Fireworks MX. Though Fireworks has a capable paint engine with a wide array of dynamics, the problem of distribution always stopped me. That is, I couldn't figure out a way to share any brushes I'd care to create. But then, while tooling around in Fireworks MX 2004, I stumbled upon a workaround. And so I present you with what I can only assume to be the first free collection of brush styles for Fireworks MX and Fireworks MX 2004.
